Big Horn County CNP in the Community

Gardening in Big Horn County

In the summer, Kristy worked on community garden projects that help provide fresh vegetables to donate to food pantries and other organizations in Big Horn County.

Healthy Food Donations

Kristy partnered with the Salvation Army Food Pantry in Basin during the holiday season to ask for healthy food donations. A donation bin was set up at the grocery story and there were tags on the shelves next to the top ten items the food pantry is looking to give to clients.

I like having the opportunity to get to know and work with so many different people, and I love that I learn just as much from my participants as they learn from me. One of the most rewarding parts of this job is when a former student tells me about a positive change they have made in their life as a result of the Cent$ible Nutrition Program.
