Ingredients
- 1 cup fruit (apples, applesauce, apricot, bananas, blueberries, cantaloupe, cherries, fruit cocktail, honeydew melon, kiwis, mangoes, nectarines, oranges, papayas, peaches, pineapples, raspberries, strawberries, tangerines, watermelon, etc.) fresh, frozen, or canned
- 1 cup milk or yogurt (low-fat milk or milk alternative, plain low-fat yogurt, low-fat flavored yogurt, etc.)
- Extras (avocado, canned or cooked squash, peas, sweet potato, pumpkin, cinnamon, flax seed, fresh spinach, chard, or kale, frozen yogurt, fruit juice, fruit nectar, nutmeg, nuts, oats, peanut butter, tofu, vanilla extract, etc.) For vegetables, nut butter, oats, frozen yogurt, and tofu, use 1/4-1/2 cup. For everything else, use about 1 teaspoon.
Instructions
- Wash hands with warm, soapy water for 20 seconds.
- Select ingredients and place in a blender with ice. If using fresh or canned fruit, add 1 - 2 cups of ice. Mix, pour, and enjoy. If a blender is not available, use a resealable plastic bag and crushed ice.
